Choosing Your Home Gym Equipment

Choosing Your Home Gym Equipment

Between the Internet and cheap manufacturing in China, there are an enormous amount of options when it comes to cheaper alternative equipment for your home gym. The question you really have to ask yourself is whether you want high quality equipment that will last, or are you happy with lower quality Chinese built equipment that will not stand the test of time. You may find with a generic piece of equipment, you are actually getting a model designed years ago and built 18 months ago. We think if you are investing in your own home gym, then the equipment should be built for you, to order…much like a new car!

We like to use accredited brands such as Technogym, Life Fitness and Pent. There is a reason why you will see these sorts of brands in good commercial gyms as well as hotel fitness centres across the globe. It is not just about how long the equipment will last…it is what effect it has on your body during training.

A Technogym treadmill for example has been designed and tested to give you maximum cushioning to minimise long term joint and muscle issues and ensure you get the most out of your training. In comparison a cheaper generic treadmill may end up causing more problems than it solves by way of injury and chronic joint issues after prolonged use. The idea behind a home gym or workout room is to improve yourself, and so investing in the right equipment is essential so you see these improvements with continued training.

Life Fitness is another great brand especially for mid-range budgets and there is a lot to be said for choosing a Life Fitness treadmill or bike if your budget is more towards the mid-range than the luxury end of the market. At the lower end you may well get a higher quality piece of equipment for the same price if you opt for Life Fitness, albeit at the higher end we find that Technogym offer the best all-round solutions.

Of course there is always a super-premium sector of any industry and for this we love Pent, who offer the most beautiful fitness products we have found on the market. The good thing about Pent is that they offer a full range of non-mechanical fitness equipment meaning in theory you could fit out an entire home gym with their brand alone (albeit you would need a secondary brand for mechanical equipment such as treadmills and bikes).

Ultimately we are here to guide you through the process and suggest the best brand or combination of brands for your home gym. We ensure you are getting up to date equipment built to order, made to last, and suited to your fitness goals.
